Masterclass: Jerusalem Piyyut – Singing, Playing, and Learning with Elad Gabay & Gil Shapira
This masterclass introduces participants to the rich soundscape of Jerusalem piyyut through live performance, group study, and audience engagement. Musicians Elad Gabay and Gil Shapira weave together Eastern musical traditions and lesser-known liturgical poems from the streets of Jerusalem.

Elad Gabay, vocalist and oud player, blends Arabic music and rock’n’roll with Jewish liturgical poetry and contemporary Israeli texts.
Gil Shapira is an oud player, composer, and arranger whose work explores the intersections of Arabic, Hebrew, and Jewish musical traditions.
